This newsletter will provide information on the security function certification issuance system and Seyeon Tech's preparations.

Starting in April 2024, video information processing devices will be included in the product group eligible for security function certification. Accordingly, the existing TTA Verified certification will end in March 2025, and will be replaced by security function testing. However, as of September 2025, no security function certification has yet been issued for video information processing devices.

Security function testing begins in earnest after the applicant submits data and samples to the testing agency (TTA) and undergoes a preliminary review. This process typically takes more than three months, and testing begins after a preliminary review meeting with the verification agency (IT Security Certification Office). This testing takes at least eight weeks and costs approximately 15 million won for small and medium-sized businesses. For third-party companies using the same firmware, a consistency verification test can be conducted for approximately 3.2 million won, with certification expected to be issued within one month. Additionally, based on the results of the identity test, the certification scope can be expanded to approximately 2.7 million won per model.

A frequently asked question regarding IP camera certification concerns cases where the camera is certified, but the NVR or VMS is not. According to the certification agency, IP cameras must obtain a security function certificate for installation in public institutions, and the NVR/VMS must at least be able to interface with the camera. Based on our findings, if the NVR is TTA verified, it is expected to be compatible with IP cameras that have received national security function certification.

We have received numerous inquiries regarding Seyeon Tech's progress, so we would like to share this information. Since May 2024, we have formed a separate team of three senior developers and have been developing the product for 11 months. We began pre-application on April 15, 2025, and have completed several preliminary reviews. We have recently held a kickoff meeting with the testing and verification agencies, and have officially commenced the actual testing. If all goes smoothly, certification is expected to be completed in November. We will actively provide necessary documentation and procedures to help customers using our IP modules or finished products obtain conformity certification.
