Since its launch in March, we've received numerous inquiries about the camera's thermal detection characteristics. We've verified its performance through extensive testing in various environments. In particular, comparisons with entry-level thermal imaging cameras (160×120 pixels) sold domestically have clearly demonstrated performance differences and intended uses.

Typically, thermal imaging cameras for security surveillance are not designed for precise temperature measurement, but rather for detecting temperature changes. Because thermal imaging camera temperature values vary significantly with distance, even when used as a temperature-sensing camera, extensive preliminary testing is essential before actual field application. Therefore, avoid using temperature information detected by a thermal imaging camera as actual temperature values.

To effectively utilize a thermal imaging camera, it's important to compare its temperature accuracy (iFOV), measurable distance, and coverage area. This product has a thermal imaging sensor size of 80×60 pixels, and supports a resolution of HFOV (horizontal field of view) 53 degrees, VFOV (vertical field of view) 42 degrees, and iFOV (instantaneous field of view) 0.6 degrees. Although it has fewer pixels than 160×120 pixel products, it provides a corresponding field of view, and we have confirmed that it shows a similar iFOV and almost identical temperature detection characteristics. The iFOV determines the precision of the temperature measurement, while the number of pixels and field of view determine the size of the measurement area and the expressiveness of details.

As shown in the photo on the left, our camera has a slightly narrower field of view than other manufacturers' cameras (160×120), but it offers a wider dynamic range of temperature detection within the field of view.

This camera features built-in MODBUS-based control, supporting various alarm outputs based on temperature characteristics. For example, when a specific temperature abnormality is detected, an audio alarm can be broadcast, and external alarm outputs such as a siren or warning light can be linked. Furthermore, the MODBUS gateway function allows temperature information to be accessed from external systems via a standard interface.

This product's thermal imaging sensor can capture thermal information up to approximately 5 meters, making it ideal for close-range temperature detection. It can detect temperatures from -10°C to 200°C. It also supports features such as a 2-megapixel motorized lens, DI/DO, two-way voice communication, and a MicroSD card (optional), ensuring full compatibility with existing IP camera systems. It supports ONVIF Profile S/T and is scheduled to obtain national security certification, ensuring high reliability in terms of security and compatibility. Additionally, it is equipped with four high-performance 3W Power LEDs, enabling clear video capture even in dark environments.

This product from Seyeon Tech can be used in a variety of applications, including fire detection at electric vehicle charging stations, parking guidance and control, and fire detection in machine rooms. Rather than relying on absolute temperature values, we recommend using it for image-based temperature change detection and alarms. For example, in parking guidance and control systems, low-cost thermal imagery can be utilized to monitor parking space conditions in real time and improve operational efficiency.

We are currently recruiting test participants for field use of this camera. If you are interested, please contact Seyeon Tech's sales team. Mass production will begin soon, reflecting the test results.
