FWC-EX2-900(3M global shutter Camera Module)
In this newsletter, we introduce two key features of Seyeon Tech’s global shutter IP cameras, which are widely used in applications such as ITS and parking lot management.
Dual Sync Mode
We have implemented the Dual Sync Mode in our recently launched 3M global shutter camera module (FWC-EX2-900). This mode synchronizes the frames of two global shutter cameras, ensuring that images captured using a single strobe LED are free from distortion or glare. The technology eliminates image distortion even when multiple global shutter cameras and strobe LEDs are used simultaneously. Currently available for 3M-grade IP camera modules, we also plan to extend support to 5M global shutter cameras. By using Seyeon Tech’s global shutter camera modules, users can operate multiple cameras and strobe LEDs without image distortion or glare.
Key Hardware Features:
• Maximum Dimensions: 42mm x 42mm (38mm x 38mm hole support)
• P-IRIS: Optional
• Dual Sync Port: Harness cable connection for distances under 30cm; CAT-5 cable with dedicated module for longer distances
• Lens Control: Supports Zoom/Focus and strobe LED control
• Interfaces: Ethernet, Micro-SD slot, UART, DI/DO, and two-way audio
Key Software Features:
• Quadruple Streaming: Supports MJPEG, H.264, and H.265
• AI-Based Analytics: Intrusion detection, line crossing, face detection, object tracking, counting, license plate recognition, and more via Open AI SDK
• Security: Compliance with TTA certification, National Intelligence Service standards, and the latest ONVIF support
• Frame Synchronization: Master-slave configuration enabling synchronization up to 20m
Multi-Shutter Multi-Streaming
License plates can be categorized into reflective and non-reflective types, depending on their reflective properties. Traditional IP cameras struggle to recognize both types effectively, as settings optimized for one type often impair recognition of the other. For instance, when configured for reflective plates, non-reflective plates appear dark, and vice versa.
To address this issue, we have developed a unique multi-streaming function capable of applying different shutter speeds and ISP (Image Signal Processing) values within a single camera. For example, in cameras supporting 60fps transmission, this technology enables the extraction of independent 30fps video streams with different shutter speeds and ISP settings, allowing each stream to be independently encoded and transmitted. This feature is currently patent-pending in Korea and ensures stable usage for our customers.
Using this technology, license plates can be reliably recognized under varying lighting conditions, both day and night. By providing stable video streams optimized for diverse conditions, this feature ensures consistent recognition performance even in challenging scenarios. Streams can be transmitted as separate video feeds, allowing selective recognition at the processing stage.
Additional Features:
• Compatibility: Supports ONVIF Profile S/T for seamless integration with various NVRs and VMS systems
• Security: Meets TTA and National Intelligence Service certification standards for secure use in public and private sectors
• Versatility: Supports DI/DO, two-way audio, and MicroSD (optional)
• Flexibility with FlexWATCH Open AI SDK: Enables advanced AI functionality, including LPR, and allows users to develop custom AI features independently or with Seyeon Tech's support
These features have successfully completed internal testing and will be officially available starting February 2025. Currently, this technology is available for 4MP global shutter modules, with plans to extend its application to rolling shutter IP camera modules. We anticipate that this innovation will set new standards for license plate recognition, particularly in areas such as parking management, traffic enforcement, and vehicle access control.
